BARE OPERA ANNOUNCES SESTO QUATRINI AS FIRST PRINCIPAL CONDUCTOR
(August 15, 2015; New York, NY)--Bare Opera announces that it has appointed rising Italian conductor, and protégé of Fabio Luisi, Sesto Quatrini as its inaugural principal conductor.
Quatrini says, “I'm excited because Bare Opera is a new way to propose the opera repertoire: proactive, smart, fresh. The level of the staff, musicians, and singers is huge. I'm honored to work making music in a high level with these wonderful people.”
"We are thrilled to have Sesto join Bare Opera as our principal conductor," notes Min Lew, General Director. "He's truly an Italian maestro with profound understanding of the operatic repertoire and a gifted orchestrator. He'll not only be conducting but also doing chamber orchestra reductions of our scores for our upcoming productions."
Rising star conductor Sesto Quatrini was born and trained in Italy. In 2013, Maestro Fabio Luisi, principal conductor of the Metropolitan Opera, selected him to conduct a workshop in France; this summer, Sesto served as assistant conductor to Luisi at the Festival della Valle d'Itria in Martina Franca, Italy. Recent honors include first prize in the “ICWC- International Conducting Workshop and Competition” in January 2013.
