Yungee Rhie

SOPRANO

Yungee Rhie has performed solo works on the stage of Alice Tully Hall, Stern Auditorium at Carnegie, Weill Recital Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, Seiji Ozawa Hall, and Fischer Center. She is re-invited to Gyungsang Opera in South Korea as Norina. Her roles include Susanna, Rosina, Nanetta, Dorinda, Euridice, La Speranza, Olympia, La Fée, Marie, Frasquita, Daphné (Gotham Chamber Opera NY Premiere), Nightingale, and the First Witch. She has premiered works of Jennifer Higdon (Pulitzer Prize Winner), John Plant, Julian Yu, Kevin James, Yoomi Paick, and Sangmi Ahn. She covered Ligeti Requiem with American Symphony Orchestra. Yungee was awarded the Sorel Fellowship given to an outstanding female singer and also was the finalist of Joy in Singing Competition. Her other awards were received from Tanglewood Music Center, Mario Lanza Institute Scholarship Competition, Career Bridges, NY Lyric Opera Theater Competition, NY Foundation for the Arts, Violetta Dupont Competition, Orpheus Competition, and Young Singers Foundation.
